Health Kneads Massage Therapy, LLC was founded by Laurel G. Howard, LMT, BCTMB in 1994. Her goal is to offer Professional Massage Therapy to her clients, helping them to reduce stress and muscle tension. Pain reduction and the resulting increase of productivity for clients, continues to be the focus of her practice.


Laurel completed the Massage Therapy Program at Lansing Community College in 1992. She has had additional training in On-Site Chair Massage, Reflexology, Hot Stone Massage, and Sports Massage.

She accepted her first position as a Professional Massage Therapist at Gardner Wellness Center in 1992 before starting her own practice at Health Kneads Massage Therapy. Laurel was a Certified Member of Associated BodyWorkers and Massage Professionals from 1999 through 2009, and joined American Massage Therapy Association in November 2009 until present. She has also been an active member in good standing in the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork since 1994 and just recently earned the title of Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in 2014.

Laurel has volunteered her time by providing sports massage in annual local and statewide charity events including Ellen’s Race, Making Strides against Breast Cancer, Make-A-Wish (WAM – Wish-a-Mile 300-mile bicycle tour) and the MS 150 bike tour.

Laurel is attentive to the safety and comfort of her clients. She encourages good communication from them in regards to how much pressure they want during their session and what goals they hope to meet.


Samantha graduated from the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage in 2012 and is a Certified Member of Associated BodyWorkers and Massage Professionals. She received her Massage Therapy License September 2013. She has mastered the therapeutic craft of Deep Tissue, Swedish, Trigger Point, and Myofascial Release. With these modalities she has gained the knowledge of promoting harmony within client’s bodies. Her compassion and deep desire is her motivation to provide each client with individualized treatment based on their problem areas.
